Sunday Morning Blogger
Years ago I was given an old cookbook from an old ladies estate. This book is entitled "Things that are Good" from Just-a-mere House. This cookbook is a one of a kind, it has little qoutes, from whom, I don't know. Here's an example:

"Here's to 'something-or-other' from you -

A nod or a smile, or a clasp of your hand;

Even a kindly thought will do -

So long as it's 'something-or-other' from you."

The cookbook is from Kentucky so it has many Kentucky drink and food recipes. Most of the recipes are written in paragraph form. Here is an example of a drink recipe:

Mint Julep - Kentucky.......Have glasses placed on ice one hour before using. In a glass dissolve one lump of loaf sugar with two and one-half tablespoons of water, add one and one-half jiggers of whiskey. In the cold glass put three leaves of crushed fresh mint, add the whiskey and sugar, fill with shaved ice. Decorate with three sprigs of fresh mint; let stand two or three minutes before serving to allow the frost to form on the outside of the glass.

Here is another example of the quotes:

"Here's to the four hinges of friendship - Swearing, Lying, Stealing and Drinking; When you swear, swear by your country; When you lie, lie for a pretty woman; When you steal, steal away from bad company; And when you drink, drink with me."

If you would like more of the recipes or the quotes, let me know.

Thanks
